Guess who I saw on TV?

Remember Laura Elizabeth S.  whom I worked on the Architecturist meets Baroque photoshoot set? Well, I saw her on the brand new Iluma Bugis tv commercial, and she looks totally awesome there. She was really a great model to work with.

Rad Hourani’s S/S 2010 collection just owns my soul, well, at least for now.

This is definitely NOT the first time I’m posting the awesome video of his show up because I’ve already posted it on my tumblr a few days back. The whole metallic element in the sea of blacks is just beyond words. But nonetheless, here’s the video.

all that glitters

I bet I’m not the only one who goes gaga about sequins (of course, no grandmother type of sequins, please) and gems. You see, the great thing about interning in a shopping centre like Orchard Central, which is aptly situated in the heart of Orchard, is that, you can shop practically everything. Although I personally would not shop in my own company’s shop (well, except for sunglasses only), I would shop anywhere else in my 1 hour long lunch/dinner break. As a result, I got myself a really great sequin-embellished hairband, and I still want to get my hands on more of these goodies. I seriously can’t get enough of it.

Shopping aside, the greatest thing about fashion is while you’re dressing yourself up with nothing but the finest, you can lend a hand to help someone while you’re immersing yourself in fashion. Taking the cue from the 100x strut fashion charity show that I participated in last December, I chanced about a fashion cause supported by big names such as Bobbi Brown, Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and Neiman Marcus. So support FASHION FOR AUTISM today.

To end of, here’s a little quote which goes

“Excellence can be obtained if you care more than others think is wise; risk more than others think is safe; dream more than others think is practical; expect more than others think is possible.

Cheers, Jessica Ye

After a long week at work, and full 9 hours at my company’s shop (2 elements, Orchard Central) daily, here I am blogging again. Well overall, work has been fine, with lots of challenges as always but many learning experiences if not, revisions of what I’ve learnt so far. Nonetheless, the best thing is still the fact that I can blast my songs on the shop’s stereos.

So these are some songs that’s on my playlist:

1. Inside and Out - Feist

2. Runaway - Ladytron

jukebox’s worth

August 8, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Today’s officially my first day in the outlet of the company I’m attached to, and I have to say,  thank goodness I’ve some songs worth listening on standby to last me the 9 hours I was there. Guess it’s safe to say that Lykke Li, Marina & the diamonds and Crystal Castles save the day. Nonetheless, the ultimate hero is still Beth Ditto from The Gossip.

Ever since ‘Jealous girl’ had me addicted, oh god, her voice is like magic to my ears. I can’t explain how hooked am I to her song ‘Heavy Cross’ (nevermind the fact that she has those extra kilos). Her voice alone atones for that already.) So, to sum up, hear it and well, watch it for yourself. She’s a pure genius, ain’t she?

Cheers, Jessica
